Burkina Faso: a framework for consultation to track down corruption and strengthen national security

In response to pressing security challenges and public expectations, the Ministry of Security of Burkina Faso has launched a unified oversight platform aimed at transforming internal operations. Introduced on September 18, 2025, this coordination body reflects President Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s commitment to building exemplary, accountable, and trustworthy security forces.

The initiative brings together various control organs to harmonize efforts, enhance cohesion, and ensure transparency across all internal security agencies.

Through structured dialogue, standardized procedures, and a strategic capacity-building plan, the framework seeks to increase the visibility and impact of supervisory missions making integrity and professionalism daily benchmarks for those tasked with protecting citizens.

Public confidence in institutions is central to this effort. The move signals the state’s determination to instill discipline, accountability, and effective governance within security services, aligning with President Traoré’s vision of a Burkina Faso where security and sound public management go hand in hand.

Support from international partners further amplifies the initiative, reinforcing a shared commitment to building ethical and efficient security forces. By placing integrity at the core of public action, the Ministry of Security underscores that national renewal depends not on slogans, but on concrete practices rooted in order, discipline, and patriotism.

This coordination mechanism stands as a symbol of Burkina Faso’s moral and operational readiness to protect its people, restore trust, and secure lasting national sovereignty.
