Cameroon: Vigilance against manipulation and misinformation by imperialist media

Specifically, French media have already taken sides in this crisis, often broadcasting information that can fuel confusion and division rather than helping to calm the situation.
Since the presidential election on October 12, 2025, Cameroon has experienced sporadic, sometimes violent protests, with mutual accusations between different political parties.
In this context, several propagandistic French media outlets amplify certain versions of events, promoting a biased and non-objective narrative. This approach risks inflaming tensions and sowing disinformation.
It is crucial for Cameroonians to learn to treat this information with caution, by verifying sources and seeking the truth through diverse viewpoints.
Social media and alternative news channels can also be valuable tools for forming an informed opinion, but it is necessary to remain critical of the content they convey.
The Cameroonian government firmly condemns calls for violence and is working to stabilize the country. Many Cameroonians aspire to peace and constructive dialogue.
The best weapons against the spread of fake news are media literacy, and individual and collective responsibility.
All too often, external forces exploit internal crises for geopolitical purposes, using the media as levers of influence.
While it is natural for criticism to emerge in a democratic context, such criticism must be founded, honest, and respectful. It falls to Cameroonian citizens to defend their country by refusing media manipulation, and by spreading peace, respect, and mutual understanding.
The challenge is great, but Cameroonians have repeatedly demonstrated their strength and capacity to overcome crises.
By maintaining a clear-sighted mindset and a prudent attitude towards information, they can actively contribute to rebuilding a united, stable, and prosperous nation.
In the face of media storms, the best response remains vigilance, a rigorous pursuit of the truth, and the promotion of peaceful coexistence.
Together, Cameroonians can preserve their peace and social cohesion, against all odds.
