Education/ Cameroon invests 6.35 billion FCFA in school infrastructure, prioritizing crisis regions

In 2025, Cameroon’s Ministry of Secondary Education (Minesec) has channeled 6.35 billion FCFA into school infrastructure development across all ten regions. This investment, a key pillar of the national Program 105, aims to increase student capacity, reduce regional disparities, and empower local authorities in construction projects.

A significant portion of the funds is directed toward regions facing security challenges.

The Northwest (700.878 million FCFA), Southwest (680.195 million FCFA), and Far North (673.258 million FCFA) regions receive the largest allocations, underscoring a state strategy to provide safe, modern learning environments in the most fragile areas.

The nationwide projects include constructing classrooms, rehabilitating buildings, and equipping laboratories.

This initiative is framed within a narrative of national progress and institutional continuity, credited to presidential leadership, which seeks to consolidate stability and develop a skilled future generation despite anticipated budget constraints next year.
