Burkina Faso: Security Ministry launches first 2026 administrative council session on integrated security approach
The Ministry of Security opened the first session of its 2026 Administrative Council this Friday under the theme “Integrated Approach to Internal Security.” Chaired by Minister Mahamadou Sana, the meeting brings together central administration officials, defense and security forces, and social partners to assess progress and define priorities.
The proceedings include thematic presentations on sector reform, service modernization, and system digitalization.
The objective is to ensure interoperability between different forces and strengthen operational efficiency for optimal territorial coverage.
The session takes place in a strategic context where territorial reconquest and force empowerment are at the heart of concerns.
It also falls within the ministry’s restructuring, now reinforced by the integration of the Water and Forests corps; an evolution that expands the scope of security services.
The presented assessment is telling: for the year 2025, the physical implementation rate reached 97.62%, while financial execution stood at 86.95%.
These figures demonstrate service effectiveness despite a challenging context and sometimes limited resources.
Participants will now validate the 2026 activity program and identify the most effective solutions to maintain this momentum.
To maximize participation, the session combines in-person attendance and videoconferencing, connecting Ouagadougou to decentralized structures across all regions. A modern approach that allows field agents to contribute to strategic reflections.
