Togo: The African Development Bank, a privileged partner of Faure Gnassingbé in his policy to improve the health system

The healthcare system improvement policy advocated by President Faure Gnassingbé through various mechanisms is gaining further momentum. With the African Development Bank (AfDB) as a strategic partner, the Togolese government is making significant strides in ensuring quality healthcare accessible to all citizens without exception.

During a meeting with President Faure Gnassingbé, AfDB President Dr. Akinwumi Adesina reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to priority projects, including the development of inclusive growth hubs and social inclusion policies, among others.

One aspect of these inclusion policies is universal access to healthcare and the development of agro-food processing industries that showcase young Togolese entrepreneurs.

To achieve this, the AfDB President intends to mobilize partners to support Togo in its healthcare system improvement policy to accelerate universal healthcare access.

Furthermore, the financial institution expresses its willingness to support other projects of the Togolese government, particularly in the energy sector, industrialization, and road infrastructure, including the Lomé-Cinkassé road, a crucial corridor requiring an investment of 2.9 billion FCFA.
