Côte d’Ivoire/Youth: The problem is not alcoholic energy drinks

The erratic and irresponsible behavior of many young people in Côte d’Ivoire, attributed to drug consumption, remains a significant issue within Ivorian society.

In Abidjan, the capital, numerous young lives are being disrupted by the influx of new substances on the market.

Among these drugs are Kadhafi and Tramadol, the latter commonly used as a painkiller.

In their quest for intense experiences, these youths are increasingly turning to these substances, leading to unacceptable behaviors observed daily across various districts of the city.

The drug problem is escalating and continues to devastate the Ivorian youth, despite the suspension of certain alcoholic energy drinks a few months ago, which were blamed for contributing to the poor behavior and health issues among young consumers.

In reality, it is the dangerous combination of these drugs with the banned drinks that produces harmful effects on the lives and health of these young people.

This explains why the incriminated beverages are sold and consumed without incident elsewhere, even in other countries in the region.

Therefore, an urgent solution must be found to combat the free circulation of these drugs on the market to protect the youth of Côte d’Ivoire.
