Togo/Sino-Africa Summit: President Faure GNASSINGBE on the hunt for opportunities and sincere, fruitful partnerships

The President of the Republic of Togo, H.E. Faure GNASSINGBE, recognized the significance of the Sino-African Summit, which takes place every three years, and ensured he would not miss the opportunities it presents. Joining many of his African counterparts, the Togolese leader arrived in China on Sunday, September 1st, to participate in the summit from September 4th to 6th, focusing on international dialogue and the strengthening of partnerships.

Driven by a commitment to the structural transformation of Togo’s economy for sustainable and tangible development that benefits its citizens, as well as a determined fight against terrorism and violent extremism, President GNASSINGBE seizes every chance to advance his vision.

His presence in Beijing underscores his deep commitment to making Togo a peaceful, secure, developed, and prosperous nation.

In Beijing, the President and his delegation will focus on forging and deepening strategic relationships that align with Togo’s current needs.

Official sources highlight that the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) provides President GNASSINGBE an opportunity to engage in direct talks with the Chinese President on prospects for a comprehensive strategic partnership, as well as with bilateral and multilateral partners and potential investors.

This summit also serves as a valuable moment to review and update existing cooperation agreements to meet today’s challenges and requirements for all parties involved.

It’s important to remember that Togo and China share a long-standing and robust relationship, centered on common interests such as trade, socio-economic infrastructure development, and the maintenance of peace and security.
