Togo / Back to school 2024-2025: Strengthening the education system under the impetus of His Excellency Faure Gnassingbé

For the 2024-2025 school year, the Togolese government, led by President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, is implementing a series of ambitious measures to ensure a smooth and effective start to the academic year for students, teachers, and families.

This new school year marks a pivotal moment in advancing the government’s educational reforms outlined in the Togo2025 roadmap, particularly projects 09 and 10, which focus on modernizing the Togolese education system and enhancing educational quality.

In recent years, Togo has been committed to a profound transformation of its educational sector, aiming to prepare a skilled youth capable of meeting future economic and social development challenges.

Under President Gnassingbé’s leadership, significant efforts have been made to improve access to education, upgrade school infrastructure, and enhance teacher training.

The 2024-2025 school year continues this trajectory, introducing key innovations to address current challenges.

A major goal for this school year is to broaden access to quality education for all Togolese children.

Recognizing education as a fundamental right and a driver of development, the government has intensified efforts to ensure that every child, including those from rural and disadvantaged areas, receives adequate education.

To achieve this, new school facilities have been constructed, and existing ones have been renovated to meet growing demands and provide modern, safe learning environments.

Additionally, the integration of digital technologies in schools marks a significant advancement. The introduction of computer equipment and increased internet access in a growing number of schools reflects the government’s commitment to modernizing education.

Improving teaching quality remains a central priority. Project 09 of the Togo2025 roadmap focuses on enhancing teacher training, with substantial efforts directed towards better preparing and supporting educators.

This approach aims to ensure high-quality education that meets current demands and the aspirations of Togolese youth.
