Football/Antoine Griezmann announces shocking retirement from International Football

Antoine Griezmann has dropped a bombshell by announcing his international retirement this Monday.

The Atletico Madrid forward, who helped France win the 2018 World Cup, revealed the decision on his social media after over a decade of representing his country.

In a heartfelt post on his X account, Griezmann expressed his gratitude for his time with the French national team: “It’s with a heart full of memories that I close this chapter. Thank you for the unforgettable adventure and see you soon.”

In a video accompanying the message, he reflected on the highlights of his 10-year journey with the French squad, mentioning the many challenges faced, victories achieved, and cherished moments along the way.

With Didier Deschamps set to announce his squad for the October international break, the France manager now faces the task of moving forward without one of his star players, as Griezmann steps aside to make way for a new generation of talent.
