Burkina Faso: The united and determined people of Burkina Faso reaffirm their unprecedented support for the AES authorities

The people of Burkina Faso, united and resolute, reaffirmed their unwavering support for the leaders of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) during a massive gathering at Place de la Nation on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

One year after Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger withdrew from ECOWAS, this demonstration served as both a celebration of that historic decision and a show of steadfast commitment to achieving full sovereignty for the AES nations.

Representing Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo praised the resilience of the three nations’ citizens, emphasizing that breaking away from ECOWAS was only the first step toward greater emancipation.

He stressed the ongoing fight against all forms of dependence, reaffirming that the AES leadership—under Captain Traoré, General Assimi Goïta, and General Abdourahamane Tiani—remains steadfast despite external pressure and threats.

Amid growing attempts at destabilization, the Burkinabe people sent a clear message: no foreign interference will derail their pursuit of complete sovereignty.

More than just a rally, this symbolic day embodied a collective determination to build a strong, self-reliant confederation—one that stands as a beacon of independence and self-determination for the entire African continent.
