Chad / AES: Growing Support among Chadian youth for possible AES Membership

Amid the security and geopolitical challenges facing the Sahel region, an increasing number of young Chadians are voicing their support for the country’s potential membership in the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

Citizen movements, youth organizations, and influential figures are actively mobilizing through awareness campaigns and advocacy efforts to promote Chad’s integration into this regional framework.

They view the AES as a strategic alternative that would enhance the autonomy of Sahelian nations, reducing external influence and fostering a security policy tailored to local realities.

Beyond military cooperation, joining the AES could also unlock significant economic and diplomatic opportunities for Chad.

Strengthened partnerships with like-minded states could pave the way for greater sovereignty and regional development.

Recognizing these stakes, Chadian youth are urging national authorities to seriously consider this avenue, seeing it as a pathway to a more secure and prosperous future for the country.
