AC Milan advances to Italian Cup semifinals after victory over AS Roma

In a thrilling quarterfinal clash at San Siro, AC Milan secured their spot in the semifinals of the Italian Cup with a 3-1 victory over AS Roma on Wednesday night. The Rossoneri took control early, with Tammy Abraham breaking the deadlock in the 16th minute after a precise assist from Theo Hernandez.

The duo struck again just before halftime, as Abraham netted his second goal, giving Milan a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.

AS Roma fought back in the second half, with Dovbyk narrowing the deficit in the 55th minute.

However, Milan’s João Félix, making his debut in Italian football, sealed the victory with a decisive goal just 12 minutes after coming off the bench, marking his first appearance with a strike in the 70th minute.

The win propels Milan into the semifinals, joining Bologna, who advanced earlier with a 1-0 victory over Atalanta.

The remaining quarterfinal matches, featuring Inter vs. Lazio and Juventus vs. Empoli, are set to take place on February 25 and 26, respectively.

Milan’s strong performance underscores their determination to reclaim the Italian Cup, a trophy they last won in 2003.
