Vinicius Jr Shines: Secures Samba d’Or 2023 as best Brazilian footballer in Europe

Vinicius Jr’s outstanding performance in the 2022-2023 season has earned him a prestigious accolade. The Real Madrid sensation has clinched the Samba d’Or 2023, crowning him as the best Brazilian footballer of the year plying his trade on the European continent. Vinicius Jr follows in the footsteps of Neymar Jr, who held the title in the previous edition.

While the Madrid player may not have made a significant impact in the race for the Ballon d’Or or the title of the best player in La Liga, he certainly seized the opportunity to claim the Samba d’Or for 2023.

With an impressive record of 20 goals and 18 assists in 53 matches across all competitions last season, the newly adorned number 7 for Real Madrid delivered a stellar performance that thrust him into the spotlight.

It comes as no surprise that he has been recognized by Sambafoot, the media outlet responsible for awarding the best Brazilian footballer in Europe for the year 2023.

«In the male category of the award organized by Sambafoot, Vini Jr. emerged as the grand winner. The star successfully ended Neymar’s three consecutive victories, with Neymar having won the award in a total of six editions», announced the organizers.

Vinicius Jr has thus brought an end to Neymar’s dominance and rightfully claimed the Samba d’Or for the remarkable year of 2023.
