President Faure Gnassingbé in Kazakhstan for cooperation in the interest of respective Populations

Upon the invitation of his counterpart, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Togolese President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé has been in Astana, Kazakhstan, since Monday, November 27, 2023.

According to a statement from the Togolese Presidency, Presidents Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will address issues related to the development of the African continent, economic challenges, the fight against climate change, and the promotion of peace and security in different regions of the world.

In Kazakhstani territory, Presidents Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will also discuss topics of mutual interest, including investments, trade, energy, transportation, logistics, and agriculture.

During his stay, the Togolese President will also visit industrial and institutional sites in Kazakhstan.

Astana pursues a multi-vector foreign policy and maintains good relations with neighboring states and major global powers.

In October, both leaders announced the celebration of the 10th anniversary of their bilateral relationship next year, marking a new stage in this mutually beneficial cooperation.
