These 29 and 30 November 2023 will mark a significant milestone in President Ibrahim Traoré’s commitment to the well-being of the people of Gaoua.

During his first visit to Gaoua, in the South-West region, the Head of State will share his bold vision for a Burkina Faso free of the scourge of terrorism, which is hampering progress and prosperity.

The planned exchanges with the region’s Forces Vives will provide President Ibrahim Traoré with an opportunity to discuss the country’s current challenges and provide concrete answers to the concerns of the local population.

More than ever, he will call on all Burkinabe to maintain a flame of common commitment against terrorism, underlining the crucial importance of national solidarity.

One of the highlights of the President’s visit will be the laying of the foundation stone for the Gaoua University Regional Hospital.

With a capacity of more than 300 beds, the new CHRU will be a crucial relief for the current hospital centre, taking in patients from Bougouriba, Ioba, Noumbiel and Poni.

It will also extend to neighbouring Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, illustrating regional solidarity in the field of health.

In addition to its role as a medical centre, the Gaoua CHRU will be a centre of academic excellence and health research and development. This initiative reflects President Traoré’s ongoing commitment to constantly improving health services, thereby helping to raise the standard of living of the people of Burkina Faso.
