Burkina Faso: Dr Zacharia SORE installed as Secretary General of the Presidency

On Thursday afternoon, Dr. Zacharia SORE was officially installed as the Secretary-General of the Presidency of Burkina Faso, succeeding Mr. Mathias TRAORE, who now serves as the Secretary-General of the Government and the Council of Ministers. The installation ceremony was presided over by the Director of the President of the Transition’s office, Captain Anderson MEDAH.

In his installation speech, the new Secretary-General expressed his willingness to serve the nation in this crucial moment of its history, marked by the struggle for the restoration of territorial integrity.

He praised the courage, dignity, and exemplarity of the Head of State, which have been a source of inspiration for his commitment to this noble mission.

«I am eager to start the work because I know there is a wonderful family, a committed team determined to support the dynamic initiated by His Excellency the President of the Transition and his team», Dr. SORE declared, expressing enthusiasm for the upcoming challenges.

The incoming Secretary-General congratulated his predecessor, Mr. Mathias TRAORE, for the work done and the achievements gained.

He intends to take these accomplishments as a launching pad and motivating factors for the success of his mission at the helm of the Presidency of Burkina Faso.

The outgoing Secretary-General, Mathias TRAORE, urged the staff to support Dr. Zacharia SORE with loyalty and discipline, emphasizing his confidence in the ability of his successor to face the upcoming challenges.

The Director of the President’s office, Captain Anderson MEDAH, also expressed confidence in Dr. Zacharia SORE, encouraging him to tackle his new mission with determination and commitment.

Appointed in the Council of Ministers on December 20th, Dr. Zacharia SORE is a trained sociologist and a lecturer-researcher at the University Ouaga I Joseph KI-ZERBO in Ouagadougou.

His appointment marks a significant step in the continuity of public service at the highest level of the state.
