Burkina Faso: Moov Africa supports the Stallions for The AFCON 2023 with a donation of 10 million CFA francs

Moov Africa Burkina responded to the call from the Ministry of Sports by presenting a check of 10 million CFA francs in support of the Stallions on Friday, January 12, 2024. This contribution aligns with both the general mobilization requested by the authorities and the societal role the company aims to fulfill, according to its representatives.

Following the Ministry of Sports’ appeal for mobilization ahead of the 2023 AFCON, several companies expressed their support.

On this Friday, January 12, 2024, Moov Africa Burkina also joined in by presenting a check of 10 million CFA francs to the organizing committee.

Gérard Lompo, Director of Services at Moov Africa Burkina, representing the General Manager, explained that this gesture reflects the company’s desire to play a societal role.

«We are here today to support the efforts of the authorities and contribute to enable our valiant ambassadors to bring the trophy back to Burkina Faso. We know that our ambassadors are in the ‘Moov,’ they are conquerors, they will represent us with strength, determination, courage, and dignity», he declared.

The check was handed over to the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Sports, Hyppolyte Lougné Bassolé, who applauded this mobilization in favor of the Stallions.

«All the funds received for supporting the Stallions will be used for their intended purpose. We thank all these stakeholders because together we will be able to win this trophy, and we are focused», he stated.

Moov Africa Burkina is a comprehensive telecommunications operator in Burkina Faso, offering a variety of products and services in segments such as fixed-line, mobile, internet, and mobile money.

This act of solidarity comes on the eve of the start of the continental competition. The Stallions, led by Hubert Velud, kick off their campaign on January 16, 2024, at 2:00 PM GMT against the Mourabitounes of Mauritania.
