Burkina-Faso: Hassane Idrissa Boly, GSIM leader neutralised. A major victory for the armed forces

The Defense and Security Forces, led by the resolute Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, have achieved a significant triumph by eliminating Hassane Idrissa Boly, a prominent figure within the GSIM (Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims), in the Boucle du Mouhoun region.

This successful operation, named the «Douroula Reconquest», resulted in the neutralization of Boly and 26 of his accomplices.

Frontline reports reveal that the committed forces, engaged in liberating this terrorism-affected region, launched substantial offensives against GSIM members situated between Magnimasso and the Léry Bridge.

In the course of these operations, 27 assailants, including the notorious Hassane Idrissa Boly, met their demise.

Boly, known for orchestrating multiple attacks against the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and civilians in Kinsèrè since 2019, was also responsible for the forced displacement of several villages in the provinces of Kossi and Banwa, along with various other egregious crimes.

The successful neutralization of Boly stands as one of the most significant victories for the combative forces and brings a collective sense of relief to the local population.

The daily accomplishments of these courageous Burkinabe patriots underscore the unwavering commitment of the army and its steadfast determination to reclaim and secure the entirety of the national territory.

This operation not only bolsters national security but also exemplifies the military’s relentless efforts in safeguarding the nation and its citizens from the threats posed by terrorist organizations.
