Manchester United’s Onana and his family under protective surveillance

Reports from The Daily Mail reveal that the Cameroonian’s wife was robbed in broad daylight in Manchester. The assailants made off with a Hermès bag and a Rolex watch, totalling €73,000 in losses.

While one suspect has been detained, the primary attacker remains at large. The incident has prompted Greater Manchester Police to place Onana and his family under protective surveillance as a precaution.

The timing adds strain for the 27-year-old, who is already under scrutiny after a challenging season. Onana, a key signing from Inter Milan last summer, must now balance personal distress with professional duty as United eyes European progression.

Manager Erik ten Hag has yet to comment on whether the situation will affect Onana’s availability. The match kicks off at 19:00 GMT under heightened security measures.
