Inter Miami’s Thrilling Concacaf Champions Cup Debut: Messi and Suarez Secure Dramatic Draw Against Nashville

In its Concacaf Champions Cup debut, Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami faced off against Nashville, securing a dramatic draw. Having skipped the first round, the 16th finals, Inter Miami faced a tough challenge against Nashville SC.

Tata Martino’s team faced an early setback with a morning goal from Canadian Jacob Shaffelburg (1-0, 4th minute).

Similar to the first half, Inter Miami found themselves trailing early in the second half when Shaffelburg netted again (2-0, 47th minute).

As defeat loomed, Inter Miami’s stars stepped up.

Lionel Messi, assisted by Luis Suarez, beautifully curled the ball to narrow the score (2-1, 52nd minute).

In the dying moments, Inter Miami leveled the game. Luis Suarez, set up by Sergio Busquets following Messi’s assist, equalized with a header (2-2, 90+5th minute).

A positive outcome for the herons, avoiding defeat before the return leg at home next week and extending their unbeaten streak to four matches this season.

It’s worth noting that the winner of this competition secures a spot in the Club World Cup.
