Sports/Diamond League 2024: Burkinabe Hugues Fabrice Zango collects medals

Burkina Faso’s athlete Hugues Fabrice Zango secured the silver medal at the Diamond League 2024 in Xiamen, China, with an impressive leap of 17.12 meters on Saturday, April 20. He was narrowly edged out by Portugal’s Pedro Pablo Pichardo, who soared to 17.51 meters in the competition.

Zango had previously clinched gold in the Triple Jump at the 2023 African Games in Accra, Ghana, on March 20, with a jump of 16.97 meters.

Prior to that, he claimed gold at the XIX Indoor Athletics World Championships in 2024 in Glasgow, Scotland, with a jump of 17.53 meters on Saturday, March 2.

On Saturday, February 10, 2024, Zango secured another gold medal in the Triple Jump at the Liévin meeting in France, achieving a jump of 17.21 meters.

His first gold of the year was attained on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the Eure meeting in France, with a leap of 17.15 meters.
