Burkina Faso/Counter-terrorism: The Fighters (FDS and VDP) always make the Most of the means and assets at their disposal

To intensify the fight against terrorism and reclaim national territory, the transitional authorities have taken numerous measures to strengthen the capacity of fighters, whether they are members of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) or volunteers for the defense of the homeland (VDP). These efforts have been remarkably effective on the ground.

A recent example is that of the VDP in Tansila, in the Banwa province of the Boucle du Mouhoun region.

These courageous Burkinabe warriors demonstrated their bravery and responsiveness on Monday, May 13, by successfully repelling a surprise attack by their enemies.

Thanks to their preparation and adequate equipment, they thwarted the malicious plan aimed at sowing chaos in their position and the locality, thereby neutralizing thirty-three criminals and recovering war materials such as a PKMS-type machine gun, 3 motorcycles, and 1 tricycle.

However, in their escape, the terrorists indiscriminately fired on civilians, resulting in the death of 6 people and injuring a child. A VDP member was also injured and received medical attention.

These tragic sacrifices underscore the dedication of those who lost their lives and those who were injured, all committed to the quest for peace and stability for their country.

This battle must continue with determination to honor those who have sacrificed, by achieving significant victories against the enemy and fully liberating the territory of the upright.

Authorities are redoubling their efforts, and fighters are even more committed to this crucial mission.
