Togo: Brigadier General ALLAHARE Dimini takes command of the Togolese armed forces

On Thursday, May 30, 2024, Brigadier General ALLAHARE Dimini officially assumed command of the Togolese Armed Forces (FAT) during a formal ceremony held at the parade ground of the FAT General Staff headquarters.

The command handover ceremony was attended by several high-ranking dignitaries, including:

  • State Minister and Minister of Water and Village Hydraulics, General Yark Damehane.
  • Secretary General for the Administration of the Ministry of Armed Forces, Mr. MONSON Palawia.
  • Various other military and civilian authorities.

The appointment of Brigadier General ALLAHARE Dimini comes amidst ongoing reorganization efforts within the Togolese Armed Forces aimed at enhancing their efficiency and coordination.

Having previously held significant command positions, including as Director General of the Lomé-Tokoin Airport Company (SALT) and Coordinator of the Security Authority at Lomé’s Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport, ALLAHARE Dimini brings extensive experience to his new role.

The ceremony commenced with protocol greetings and speeches highlighting the importance of the command transition.

General Yark Damehane addressed the audience, congratulating the new commander and outlining the challenges and responsibilities ahead.

Brigadier General ALLAHARE Dimini expressed his gratitude for the confidence placed in him and reiterated his commitment to strengthening the capabilities of the Togolese Armed Forces.

He emphasized the need to maintain strict discipline and to enhance cooperation with regional and international partners to ensure Togo’s security and stability.

The assumption of command by Brigadier General ALLAHARE Dimini marks a new chapter in the strengthening of the Togolese Armed Forces.

With his experience and determination, he is well-positioned to lead the FAT towards new horizons, addressing current and future security challenges while ensuring peace and stability in Togo.
