Chelsea Welcomes Enzo Maresca as New Head Coach

Chelsea enters a new era with the appointment of Enzo Maresca as head coach, following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino. The club officially announced on Monday that Maresca, who recently won the Championship with Leicester, has signed a five-year contract with an option for an additional year.

Maresca, 44, brings experience from his time working with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and a brief stint at Parma.

His success at Leicester, where he led the team to a title after their relegation, caught Chelsea’s attention due to his attractive playing style and promising potential.

Chelsea’s statement expressed enthusiasm about Maresca’s appointment, highlighting his impressive track record and alignment with the club’s ambitions and work ethic.

Maresca’s coaching staff includes former Chelsea player Willy Caballero, who will serve as the goalkeeping coach.

This appointment marks the longest contract for any current Premier League manager, reflecting Chelsea’s confidence in Maresca’s ability to fulfill their competitive goals.
