Football/Luis Suárez announces retirement from international Football with Uruguay

Luis Suárez, a true icon of Uruguayan football, has officially announced the end of his international career, marking the close of a significant chapter for La Celeste. At 37 years old, the legendary striker, known as “El Pistolero,” revealed in an emotional press conference that Friday’s upcoming match against Paraguay will be his final appearance in the national team jersey.

 

Over his illustrious career, Suárez has made an indelible mark on Uruguayan football, scoring 68 goals in 142 appearances.

 

“I’ve always been taught to give my all for my national team, and I’ve done so until now without holding back. I have no regrets,” Suárez stated.
