Burkina Faso: Popular mobilisation, two years of unwavering support for President Ibrahim Traoré
On Monday, September 30, 2024, the National Coordination of Citizen Watch Associations (CNAVC) of Houet gathered at Tiéfo Amoro Square to celebrate two years of leadership under the Patriotic Movement for Safeguard and Restoration (MPSR), led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
The symbolic anniversary was an opportunity to assess the accomplishments of the regime and pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the defense of Burkina Faso.
Addressing the media, the event’s speakers emphasized the “positive and encouraging” progress made in several key areas, including security, education, agriculture, development, and international cooperation.
Oumarou Guira, the spokesperson for the CNAVC, praised the efforts to strengthen the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), citing the modern equipment provided, which helped reclaim territories previously under terrorist control.
He also highlighted the importance of strategic alliances, particularly through the Sahel States Alliance (AES), which has been instrumental in improving border security.
The regime’s achievements extend beyond security. In terms of development, infrastructure reconstruction and rehabilitation of conflict-affected areas are ongoing.
Initiatives to support displaced populations and revitalize agriculture, including the distribution of inputs and mechanization efforts, are also underway.
Through this assessment, the people reaffirmed their unwavering support for President Ibrahim Traoré and his team, applauding their relentless dedication to rebuilding and restructuring Burkina Faso.
