Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré launches the local consumption initiative to promote local knowledge and products

President Ibrahim Traoré has officially launched the “Consommons local initiative” (Let’s consume local) initiative, aimed at raising awareness among Burkinabe citizens about the importance of promoting local resources.

This program seeks to foster both individual and collective consciousness around the value of local knowledge, products, and the country’s wealth.

It is part of a broader effort to strengthen Burkina Faso’s cultural and economic identity by providing greater support to local industries.

While Burkinabe fashion is already gaining popularity both nationally and internationally, the ” Let’s consume local” initiative also highlights the diversity and quality of traditional foods and beverages made from local ingredients.

These elements showcase the richness of Burkina Faso’s resources and demonstrate the country’s potential to sustainably develop its economy.

By encouraging Burkinabe to shift their consumption habits towards locally produced goods, President Traoré aims to boost national self-sufficiency and stimulate the local economy.

The goal is to reduce reliance on imports while promoting home-grown products.

The promotion of ” Let’s consume local” serves not only as an economic tool but also as an act of patriotism, calling on every citizen to actively contribute to building a strong economy based on Burkina Faso’s local potential and expertise.
