Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré accelerates reforms for National Sovereignty

At the Council of Ministers meeting on November 27, led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, critical decisions were made to strengthen Burkina Faso’s sovereignty and revitalize key sectors. These measures underscore the government’s commitment to transformative action in line with the aspirations of its citizens.

 

In the justice sector, the Council approved a significant reform of the country’s national emblem to align it with the reinstated motto: “La Patrie ou la Mort, nous Vaincrons” (“The Homeland or Death, We Shall Overcome”).

 

Proposed by Justice Minister Edasso Rodrigue Bayala, this initiative reflects efforts to embed the nation’s guiding principles into its state symbols, following the recent constitutional amendments.

 

In the realm of natural resources, bold steps were announced to enhance the mining sector’s contribution to the national economy. Mining and Energy Minister Yacouba Zabré Gouba outlined reforms that include an overhaul of mining taxes and the removal of caps on export royalties for gold.

 

These changes aim to ensure that revenues from natural resources significantly bolster the state budget and drive sustainable development.

 

These reforms highlight Captain Traoré’s pragmatic and resolute leadership, focusing on building a sovereign and prosperous Burkina Faso.

 

 By combining institutional and economic reforms, his administration is laying the groundwork for a future that aligns with the nation’s ambitions and resilience.
