Malian armed forces intensify counterterrorism operations with decisive success in Sébabougou

Demonstrating unwavering commitment, the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) continue their critical mission to secure and reclaim Mali’s sovereign territory. In a decisive operation near Sébabougou (Diéma district, Nioro du Sahel region), FAMa neutralized over twenty terrorists according to an official statement from the Army General Staff.

The strategic offensive followed the dismantling of multiple terrorist bases across ten localities. After professionally repelling a terrorist ambush earlier Monday, Malian troops established full control of Sébabougou.

Precision airstrikes conducted that evening destroyed terrorist shelters and logistical assets, eliminating 21 combatants in the process.

The operation yielded significant materiel seizures including dozens of weapons, vehicles, and communication equipment.

Pursuit operations continue to apprehend wounded and fleeing insurgents. The General Staff has implemented rigorous surveillance protocols to facilitate the safe return of displaced civilians and ensure lasting regional security.

These successful counterterrorism actions reflect the growing operational capacity of Mali’s defense forces.

Nationwide operations persist with increased intensity, underscoring the military’s determination to restore stability across all regions.

The Sébabougou engagement marks another strategic victory in Mali’s comprehensive security strategy, combining ground maneuvers with precision aerial capabilities to degrade terrorist networks.
