Mali: Social works/Two health centers powered by solar energy, a further step towards health resilience

The ongoing modernization of healthcare facilities in Bamako is once again taking shape with the installation of solar energy systems in two community health centers: Banconi (ASACOBA) and Sikoro Sourakabougou (ASACOSISOU). With capacities of 90 kWh and 60 kWh respectively, these solar installations, part of the social initiatives of the President, General Assimi Goïta, aim to improve healthcare services.

The installation of these solar systems reflects a political commitment to enhance access to healthcare under more reliable energy conditions.

This initiative aligns with the vision of the transitional president, General Assimi Goïta, whose ongoing commitment to the well-being of the population is increasingly visible on the ground. The Special Advisor emphasized the importance of proper maintenance of the equipment, announcing the creation of a dedicated team to ensure their longevity.

In the same spirit, the commune of Ouélessébougou in the Bougouni region has benefited from a modern water borehole. This water supply system is now transforming the lives of women and children who were previously burdened with long and exhausting water collection tasks. Thanks to this infrastructure, the local population now has access to clean drinking water, contributing to better health—especially for women and children.

All these efforts are a testament to the President’s ongoing commitment to improving living conditions through concrete, sustainable, and inclusive actions
