Burkina Faso: Presidential initiatives for education: governors called upon to relay and mobilize

The National Coordinator of the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education for All (IPEQ), Dr. Zakaria SORÉ, met this Thursday in Ouagadougou with regional governors as part of an exchange and mobilization session focused on presidential initiatives.

According to him, the main objective of this meeting was to inform the State representatives in the regions about the presidential initiatives so that they, in turn, could become active relays to the local populations. “Governors hold a strategic position. They carry both the administrative and public message. It was therefore essential that they take ownership of the initiatives and actively participate in spreading them,” explained Dr. Zakaria SORÉ.

He also emphasized that the meeting sought to secure the active support of the governors for the success of President Ibrahim Traoré’s projects. “The goal is to encourage them to raise awareness among the populations and involve them in the implementation of the various presidential initiatives. They must become ambassadors of these initiatives among local stakeholders,” he added.

The governors unanimously welcomed the initiative. For Abdoulaye BASSINGA, Governor of the Centre region, this mobilization demonstrates the transitional government’s commitment to social transformation. “We take part in this meeting with a sense of pride. We fully commit ourselves on the ground to promote these initiatives and contribute to their successful implementation for the benefit of the people we serve,” he affirmed.

He further indicated that following this session, additional meetings would be organized in the different regions to ensure better integration of these programs. “We will engage with local stakeholders to present the presidential initiatives and encourage their support. Together, we will build sustainable solutions for our communities”, Mr. BASSINGA concluded.
