Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré drives change and development despite adversity

Despite the challenging context marked by the fight against terrorism, President Ibrahim Traoré continues to launch concrete initiatives to offer a better future to the youth of Burkina Faso. This political will is reflected on the ground through tangible actions that bring hope, demonstrating that every Burkinabe plays a role in building the nation.

In this spirit, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo launched two major initiatives for young people on Friday, June 13, 2025. First, the placement of 10,000 young people in professional initiation internships, giving them the opportunity to acquire practical skills and prepare for their future integration into the job market. This initiative covers all 45 provinces of Burkina Faso and involves various promising sectors, from agribusiness to mining, including crafts, construction, public administration, and other fields that can provide financial independence. To further support this effort, each intern will receive a monthly stipend of 25,000 CFA francs to encourage participation and prevent dropouts.

Beyond employment, President Ibrahim Traoré is committed to providing spaces for expression, learning, and support for young people. This approach includes the rehabilitation of Listening and Dialogue Centers, transforming them into dynamic, connected, and educational hubs. The goal of this modernization is to offer quality guidance, foster the emergence of innovative ideas, and equip young people to face the uncertainties of the future. This comprehensive policy addresses all dimensions of personal development—professional, social, and cultural—to empower each young person to become the main driver of their own change.

Thus, under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is equipping itself with the means to implement a strengthened public policy for its youth, an essential factor for national development. This policy highlights that, even in difficult times, the fight against terrorism goes hand in hand with investing in people—ensuring that every Burkinabe can hold on to the hope of a better life and a brighter future.
