Simpo Event’s has announced this Friday the upcoming edition of the Ouagadougou International Music Festival, called “Ouid-Toghin en fête,” scheduled to take place from June 20 to 22, 2025. The 3rd edition of the Ouagadougou International Music Festival, “Ouid-Toghin en fête,” is set for June 20–22, 2025.

The announcement was made by the organizing committee, namely Simpo Event’s, during a press conference held this Friday.

According to the organizers, the festival specifically aims to promote Burkinabe and African musical culture, provide a platform for young talents to gain visibility, foster social cohesion through culture, encourage artistic patronage, and stimulate private investment in the cultural sector.

The theme chosen for this edition is “Culture and Resilience.”

“This festival stands out for its commitment to providing a platform for emerging talents, particularly those who do not always have access to major stages, while promoting dialogue between musical generations and cultural expressions from Burkina Faso and beyond,” said Iwaoga Simporé, the festival’s promoter.

It is a platform of expression for both renowned artists and rising talents.

Already, artists such as Amity Méria, Ismo Vitalo, and Dez Altino have confirmed their participation for live performances.

“Culture is the key to all forms of resilience. We are giving all ethnic groups the opportunity to express themselves. Without resilience, it will be difficult to participate actively in the fight against terrorism,” emphasized Ninja Kafando, the festival’s general coordinator.

Over the three days, a lively marketplace will be organized, offering refreshments and a variety of grilled foods.

Each evening, starting at 6 p.m., both traditional and modern performances will be on the program.
