Burkina-Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré, strategic leadership for an economic revolution driven by the CCI-BF

Installed on June 19, the Burkina Faso Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-BF) is ready to lead the country’s economic revolution. But first, the institution’s board met with the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to receive guidance and directives to help successfully carry out its mission. This approach by the CCI-BF team reflects Captain Traoré’s vision of economic sovereignty, which places the private sector at the center of national economic recovery.

By receiving CCI-BF President Roland Achille Sow and his team, President Traoré expressed his support for the new body and outlined an ambitious roadmap to energize trade and industry in Burkina Faso. This was illustrated by the institutional reform initiated on December 18, 2024, during a Council of Ministers meeting, where the special statutes of the CCI-BF were adopted and the former consular chamber was dissolved.

Thus, Captain Traoré has demonstrated his confidence in the new consular body’s ability to meet the challenge of establishing strong institutional foundations in support of inclusive growth. This economic recovery strategy is part of a broader sovereignty-focused policy led by the government, which relies on the private sector as a key partner in building a prosperous Burkina Faso. It also reflects his commitment to working alongside the country’s key stakeholders to bring about lasting national transformation.

The CCI-BF was created to be more attuned to realities on the ground, capable of effectively supporting economic operators and injecting new energy into the national entrepreneurial landscape. With a team of eight members—nicknamed the “8 VDPs of the Burkinabe economy”—the new consular body is expected to become a true spearhead of transformation, in line with the revolution championed by the President of Faso.
