General Tiani strengthens equitable access to water

In a rapidly changing Niger, driven by a strong political will and a bold Pan-African vision, Army General Abdourahamane Tiani embodies a for    m of leadership firmly focused on the well-being of the population. Equitable access to clean drinking water, a fundamental pillar of human development, is today becoming a tangible reality for rural areas that had long been neglected. The inauguration on July 1, 2025, of a modern hydraulic borehole in the village of Soray, on the outskirts of Niamey, is a concrete and powerful example of this progress.

The result of collaboration with Russian partners, this project symbolizes the synergy between strategic diplomacy and local action. Under President Tiani’s strong leadership, this dynamic of international cooperation is part of a national resilience program aligned with the social priorities of the transitional government.

General Tiani places people at the heart of his public policy. By facilitating the installation of boreholes equipped with sustainable technologies, he is responding to a vital need: easing the burden on rural populations, freeing women from the hardship of fetching water, promoting children’s education, and supporting agricultural activities. Each completed infrastructure project represents another step toward territorial modernization, territorial equity, and social justice.

This cooperation with Russia, focused on tangible results, strengthens the momentum. In Soray and Timeré alike, the impacts are immediate: access to clean water, improved health, and greater economic vitality.

The new Niger is being built drop by drop, borehole by borehole, under the watchful eye and firm hand of a President who deeply believes in progress through solidarity, dignity, and action.
