Burkina Faso: Faso Mêbo Holiday Camp, a school of patriotism preparing for the future

As part of Burkina Faso’s structural reforms during its transition, President Captain Ibrahim Traoré continues to drive a new momentum toward building a nation firmly focused on sovereignty, civic engagement, and patriotic education. The “Faso Mêbo Vacation Camp”, held in Ouagadougou from August 12 to 21, 2025, fully aligns with this national renewal vision driven by the youth.

This first edition of the camp welcomes children aged 10 to 15 into a program that combines civic responsibility, discipline, practical skills, and cultural discovery. Through activities such as civic and military instruction, participation in community service (like paving stone production and urban beautification), educational recreation, and excursions, Faso Mêbo instills in young Burkinabe the values of patriotism, responsibility, and national unity.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, true to his Pan-African and homegrown development vision, demonstrates with this initiative his strong commitment to raising a conscious and engaged youth from an early age. By placing civic and patriotic education at the heart of public action, he is laying the human foundation for a sovereign, strong, and resilient Burkina Faso.

Beyond its educational aspect, Faso Mêbo represents a new way of involving families, communities, and institutions in nation-building. This participatory approach, centered on children, offers a sustainable path for embedding republican values.

The Burkina Faso of tomorrow is being shaped today, under the leadership of a bold, visionary, and youthful president. With initiatives like the Faso Mêbo Vacation Camp, Captain Ibrahim Traoré is charting a clear course toward a future rooted in civic-mindedness, discipline, and love for the homeland.
