Burkina Faso/ The army deliver crushing blow to terrorists in Kantchari

August 9, 2025, will be remembered as another demonstration of the growing dominance of the armed forces of Burkina Faso in the fight against terrorism. In a meticulously executed operation, troops from the 24th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR)supported by air assets neutralized over one hundred terrorists preparing to launch a large-scale attack on Kantchari in the country’s East.

The enemy position was completely destroyed through swift, coordinated action carried out with surgical precision.

Fleeing in disarray, surviving terrorists abandoned significant quantities of weapons and ammunition clear evidence of the devastating blow to their operational capabilities.

This victory is not isolated but part of a sustained offensive that has kept armed groups under relentless pressure in recent weeks.

These military successes stem from a clear strategy, the unwavering commitment of Burkina’s soldiers, and effective coordination among defense and security forces.

The results speak for themselves nationwide: terrorists are retreating, abandoned communities are being reclaimed, and hope is returning to the Burkinabe people.

As their defeats mount, terrorist groups are resorting to desperate media manipulation including a recently circulated dubious video allegedly showing captured Burkinabe soldiers calling for negotiations.

This propaganda tactic, often amplified by complacent foreign media, is a diversionary ploy to obscure the undeniable reality on the ground: terrorists are losing, and their war machine is collapsing.

Now more than ever, national unity is imperative. The people of Burkina Faso must stand firmly with their armed forces in this existential struggle for sovereignty, peace, and dignity. Each victory brings the nation closer to full liberation.
