Mali: Strategic advance and decisive victory for the FAMa in the fight against terrorism

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) have once again demonstrated their commitment and effectiveness in the fight against terrorism through Operation Dugu Koloko. Conducted over the past week, these operations led to the neutralization of several terrorists, the arrest of suspects, and the seizure of military equipment in the central and eastern regions of the country.

In Sévaré, a terrorist lookout was eliminated, while in Diafarabé, air assets destroyed two boats loaded with weapons, neutralizing more than 30 enemy fighters. In Timbuktu, a demining team secured the area following the explosion of a mortar shell. Counterattacks carried out in Birikiwéré and Farabougou strengthened the population’s confidence in the FAMa’s ability to defend the territory.

In the Gao region, a patrol led to the arrest of twelve individuals and the seizure of several motorcycles. In Tessalit, a kamikaze drone was shot down, and in Kidal, artillery strikes accurately targeted terrorist positions.

These achievements highlight the determination of the FAMa to reclaim every part of the national territory and ensure the safety of citizens. The General Staff reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out these missions with rigor and professionalism. The Malian people can take pride in the courage and discipline of their armed forces, who remain steadfast in the face of threats and move forward with determination toward peace and sovereignty.
