Mali: The council of Ministers adopts key reforms and appointments
At its weekly session on November 5, 2025, the Council of Ministers of Mali, chaired by President General Assimi Goïta, approved significant legislative reforms and new administrative appointments.
A major agenda item was the adoption of texts regulating the architecture profession, aligning with West African Monetary and Economic Union (UEMOA) standards.
The reforms introduce mutual recognition of qualifications across member states and establish a mandatory 24-month professional internship, enhancing professional standards in Mali’s construction sector.
The council also confirmed several key appointments, including Colonel-Major Boubacar Yassanry Sanogoh as Director of Higher Inter-Armed Forces Studies at Mali’s War College, alongside other officials in economic, agricultural, and foreign affairs ministries.
Internationally, ministers reported on the participation of Mali in global forums, including the signing of the UN Convention on Cybercrime and engagement in peace and security discussions at the Lomé Forum and Non-Aligned Movement meeting.
President Goïta addressed public health concerns, urging strengthened prevention measures against a rising dengue outbreak.
The session demonstrated the government’s continued focus on structural reforms while addressing pressing health, economic, and diplomatic priorities.
