Zambia and Comoros stalemate in goalless AFCON clash

A tense and goalless draw between Zambia and Comoros leaves Group A finely poised after their second fixture at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Played at a high intensity in Casablanca, the match lacked only a decisive goal. Comoros thought they had broken the deadlock in the 19th minute through Mzean Maoulida, but a VAR review chalked off the effort for a prior foul.

Despite controlling large spells of possession and posing a consistent threat, Comoros were repeatedly frustrated by a disciplined Zambian defense and their own rushed finishing in front of goal.

The result elevates Zambia to two points, keeping their knockout stage hopes firmly alive. Comoros, meanwhile, earn their first point of the tournament, ensuring everything remains to play for in the final group matches.

Comoros will next face Mali, while Zambia’s task is formidable: a showdown with tournament hosts Morocco to decide their fate.
