Burkina Faso: A major step towards accessible healthcare for all

Under the leadership of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is taking a decisive step forward in improving access to healthcare. His vision, centered on humanity and equity, is being translated into concrete reforms aimed at easing the financial burden on the most vulnerable populations while strengthening the national health system.

The decision to eliminate the 500,000 F CFA deposit previously required to receive dialysis treatment represents a historic advancement.

Now set at 0 F CFA, this measure opens access to life-saving care for thousands of patients who were previously excluded.

Even more, the cost per session has been drastically reduced from 15,000 to 2,500 F CFA, providing lasting relief for Burkinabe families.

Effective nationwide, this reform demonstrates the Burkinabe government’s commitment to guaranteeing genuine equality in healthcare.

It strengthens national solidarity and reflects a firm resolve to leave no citizen on the margins of the health system.

This turning point marks a clear step toward social justice and health equity. It embodies responsible governance, where the well-being of the people remains an absolute priority, without distinction.
