Burkina Faso: 83 candidates selected to strengthen the BSIR Special Forces

The Special Forces Group of the Rapid Intervention Special Brigade (BSIR) of Burkina Faso will soon welcome 83 new members, selected from over 200 candidates initially involved in the recruitment process. This limited intake testifies to the demanding standards and level of excellence required to join this elite unit.

The successful candidates have completed a nine-month training course of exceptional intensity, focused on three fundamental pillars: specialization, acculturation, and hardening.

This pedagogical trio was designed to forge complete combatants, capable of operating in the most hostile environments.

The training was conceived to harmoniously develop “the physical, the mental, and the intelligence,” according to Special Forces criteria.

This holistic approach aims to equip soldiers not only with superior operational capabilities, but also with unshakeable psychological resilience and strategic analytical capacity.

These new members will significantly strengthen the  capabilities of the BSIR in the fight against terrorism.

Their enhanced expertise will make it possible to intensify special operations against armed groups and improve the protection of civilian populations.
