Cycling/ Hamza Amari crowned Champion of the 2025 Cycling Tour of Algeria

Hamza Amari of Team Madar Pro-Cycling has etched his name in Algerian cycling history by winning the 2025 Tour of Algeria. After claiming the yellow jersey in the 9th stage, he defended it brilliantly to secure the overall title with a time of 32 hours, 54 minutes, and 33 seconds.

He finished 11 seconds ahead of Belgium’s Rutger Wouters (Team Flanders) and 17 seconds ahead of his teammate Youcef Reguigui.

The 10th and final stage, covering 83.5 km between Ouargla and Hassi Messaoud, was won by Hamza Yacine, also from Team Madar Pro-Cycling.

The Algerian rider crossed the finish line in 2 hours, 1 minute, and 42 seconds, ahead of Kazakhstan’s Yevgeniy Gidich (China Glory-Mentech) and Eritrea’s Milkias Maekele (Eritrean National Team).

The 2025 edition of the race highlighted the dominance of the Algerian team, which shone both individually and collectively.

Amari’s victory not only cements his status as one of Africa’s top cyclists but also underscores the growing strength of Algerian cycling. A triumphant moment for Amari and a celebration of the sport’s rise in Algeria.
