AES Confederation: A Strengthened commitment to integration and development

The leaders of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger continue to advance their shared vision for the Confederation of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), focusing on deeper integration and sustainable development for their populations. Key initiatives are being implemented to accelerate this process.

Following the introduction of the AES passport on January 29, the confederation has now unveiled its official flag, reinforcing the determination of its member states to collaborate for security, economic growth, and regional prosperity.

This latest step highlights their collective commitment to fostering a strong, unified identity.

According to Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdoulaye Diop, the flag is more than a symbol—it embodies hope, prosperity, and the economic potential of the Sahel.

It reflects the natural wealth of the region and the shared ambitions of these nations to strengthen cooperation and drive socioeconomic progress.

By facilitating free movement of people and goods, the AES is taking concrete steps toward greater regional integration. This confederation was established by the leaders of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger with a firm commitment to a new path—one that ensures real development and empowerment for their citizens.
