Burkina Faso: The Prime Minister presents his annual report to the Legislative Assembly

This Friday, March 14, 2025, at 9 a.m., Burkina Faso’s Head of Government, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, will address the National Representation. According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, he will deliver a speech on the state of the nation before the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT).

This constitutional exercise is a pivotal moment to assess the government’s actions and foster constructive dialogue with lawmakers.

During his address, the Prime Minister will provide a detailed account of his government’s achievements in 2024.

He will highlight significant accomplishments while addressing the challenges faced in fulfilling the commitments of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

This presentation will also outline future plans aimed at consolidating progress and advancing reforms for the country’s development.

In line with Article 109 of the Constitution, the speech will be followed by a debate with deputies.

Lawmakers will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their observations, creating a platform for exchange and reflection on the government’s priorities.

It is important to note that this session, while rich in discussion, will not involve any voting, as stipulated by constitutional provisions.

This democratic exercise holds particular significance as it reinforces transparency and accountability of the executive branch before the people’s representatives.

It is part of a tradition aimed at ensuring rigorous monitoring of public policies and guaranteeing that government actions align with citizens’ expectations.

The people of Burkina Faso eagerly await this address, which is expected to shed light on the next steps in the nation’s development journey.
