Mali: Buoyed by the vision of President Assimi Goïta, the country embarks on a new era of sovereignty and development

Thanks to the vision of the Transitional President, General Assimi Goïta, Mali is entering a decisive phase toward sustainable and inclusive development. One of the major reforms reflecting this will for change is the overhaul of the Mining Code. This bold and structural reform has enabled the country to regain control over its strategic resources—particularly gold—which had long been monopolized by private interests to the detriment of the Malian people.

 Transparent management yielding concrete results

The year 2024 marked a historic turning point with a surge in revenue from the gold sector, reaching 603 billion CFA francs. This represents an exceptional increase of 52.5% compared to previous years. This dramatic rise is a direct result of the good governance established by President Assimi Goïta and the end of economic impunity. Where once this wealth vanished into the opaque channels of a privileged few, it is now redirected into the public treasury for the benefit of all.

A forward-moving Mali, driven by its own resources

This unprecedented financial windfall is now providing Mali with the means to achieve its ambitions: improving infrastructure, investing in health, education, security, and raising the population’s standard of living. For the first time in decades, Mali’s underground resources are truly being used to build the nation’s future. Under President Goïta’s leadership, Mali is proving that with a clear vision, strong political will, and rigorous management, a country can rise and thrive on its own, in the sole service of its people.
