Hakimi, Diarra, Guessand shortlisted for Marc-Vivien Foé 2025 Award

RFI and France 24 have unveiled the three finalists for the 2025 Marc-Vivien Foé Prize, honoring Ligue 1’s best African player: Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi (PSG), Senegal’s Habib Diarra (Strasbourg), and Côte d’Ivoire’s Evann Guessand (Nice). The winner will be announced on May 12.

Diarra, 21, Strasbourg’s captain and academy product, has emerged as a key figure in their revival. Guessand, 24, has evolved into a versatile forward for Nice, earning national team recognition. Hakimi, PSG’s vice-captain and a four-time nominee, remains pivotal under Luis Enrique.

Past winners include Aubameyang (2013, 2024), Osimhen (2020), and Pépé (2019). The award, named after the late Cameroonian midfielder, celebrates African excellence in France’s top league.
