Morocco and Nigeria advance to U20 AFCON Quarter-Finals

Morocco and Nigeria secured their spots in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals after Wednesday’s decisive Group B matches.

The Atlas Lions topped the group with a commanding 3-1 victory over Tunisia at the Suez Canal Stadium. Ayman Arguigue (44’), Ismail Bakhti (86’), and Jonas El-Abdellaoui (90+2’) sealed the win, ensuring Morocco finished with 7 points.

Meanwhile, Nigeria held firm in second place after a 2-2 draw against Kenya at the 30 June Stadium. Kparobo Nathaniel Arierhi and Daniel Bameyi found the net for the Flying Eagles, who end the group stage with 5 points.

Tunisia, third with 3 points, now faces an anxious wait to see if they qualify as one of the best third-placed teams, pending Group C’s final results.

Morocco will face a Group A runner-up in the knockouts, while Nigeria prepares for a tough quarter-final clash. The tournament’s next phase promises thrilling action as Africa’s rising stars battle for continental glory.
