Burkina Faso: Traders in Rood Wooko respond to Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s call and support the Faso Mêbo Initiative

In a new display of popular support for the reforms initiated by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, small traders from Ouagadougou’s Rood Wooko central market made a material contribution worth nearly 5 million FCFA on July 24, 2025, to the Presidential Initiative Faso Mêbo, which aims to clean up, modernize, and sustainably develop cities across Burkina Faso.

Their donation—40 tons of granite, 40 tons of sand, and 35 tons of cement—symbolizes the active involvement of grassroots communities in national development. This gesture directly responds to the call of Captain Traoré, whose sovereignist and pan-African vision for Burkina Faso continues to gain growing support among the population.

Faso Mêbo, launched in October 2024, is part of an ambitious strategy focused on urban planning, opening up isolated areas, and improving living conditions. Through this initiative, Captain Traoré places citizens at the heart of public action, rallying all segments of society around a shared goal: to build a new, free, clean, and prosperous Burkina Faso.

Civil servants, traders, market women like Zalissa Nikièma, and associations such as the Forestry and Water Retirees’ Union—which donated a ton of cement and tree seedlings—are all contributing to the effort. A national movement is thus underway, where solidarity goes hand in hand with development.

Thanks to a clear vision, structured actions, and the commitment of the people, Captain Ibrahim Traoré is charting an upward course for Burkina Faso. The widespread enthusiasm for Faso Mêbo reflects a country that, under his leadership, is firmly oriented toward a future of dignity, unity, and progress.
