Lil Nas X arrested in Los Angeles for suspected overdose

Rapper Lil Nas X was arrested Thursday morning in Los Angeles and briefly hospitalized on suspicion of an overdose, following an incident on the busy Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the artist, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was walking naked when he charged at responding officers.

Authorities immediately took him into custody and, suspecting a possible overdose, transported him to a hospital as a precaution. His current health condition remains unclear, but he was released from the hospital and later booked at the Van Nuys detention center, near the location where he was initially apprehended.

A video obtained by TMZ shows Lil Nas X wearing only underwear and boots as he walked along the street. He was arrested on suspicion of obstructing justice. Attempts to reach his representatives for comment have not received a response.

The 26-year-old Atlanta native rose to fame with his 2018 hit Old Town Road, which blended country and hip-hop and stayed at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks, setting a record. His debut studio album, Montero (2021), reached number two on the Billboard Albums chart and earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year, cementing his reputation as an innovative and boundary-pushing artist.
